I recently received an email from a home inspection company with an idea that made a whole lot of sense to me.
Their suggestion is for homeowners thinking of selling should get a pre-listing home inspection for the following reasons:
Cleaner offers
Getting to closing faster
Maximizing the selling price
Now their other idea I want to share is a list of fall home maintenance that is relatively easy to accomplish and will pay off in the long run:
Clear gutters of leaves, sticks, and other debris.
Caulk around the exterior door and window frames for a tight seal.
Use binoculars to check the roof for missing or damaged shingles Also, have a qualified professional inspect and do the repair of the roof if needed.
Have the furnace inspected to ensure that it’s safe and in good working order.
If you have a wood burning fireplace, have the firebox and chimney professionally cleaned before use this season.
There you have it - 2 in 1! Get your fall home maintenance done early. If you decide it is time to list your home, you can do it with confidence because you have done a pre-inspection!
